Heads of CPC and STS Held a Working Meeting

IMG02815.jpgA working meeting of Caspian Pipeline Consortium management and State Technical Service JSC took place in Astana on December 10, 2024.  Nikolay Gorban, CPC General Director and Askar Zhunisbek, STS JSC Chairman of the Board, along with representatives of both companies, discussed key matters of information security for the Consortium's infrastructure in the Republic of Kazakhstan. 
Chairman of STS JSC Board Askar Zhunisbek called the meeting to order and pointed out that the State Technical Service was among the leading institutions in the cybersecurity field in Kazakhstan, and a reliable partner in building a secure digital ecosystem.  
‘We believe that the progress of our cooperative efforts will be a success. We are prepared to share our own competencies and best practices’, CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban underscored in his address.
At the meeting, the parties also exchanged their standpoints with regard to information security, existing threats, potential risks and integrated methods of ensuring security of automated control systems. 
A special emphasis was placed on the application of regulatory legal acts in the field of information security, and to streamlining of approaches to cyber security used by member states engaged in the CPC international project. The discussion also concerned development of unified security standards for automated process control systems.

CPC Pipeline System is one of the major projects in energy sector in the CIS. The length of the Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km. This route transports over two-thirds of all Kazakhstan export oil, and crude from Russian oil fields, including those in the Caspian Region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore.
