Woodman’s Hut Museum Opened in the Utrish Natural Reserve

IMG-20250422-WA0003.jpgOn April 22, 2025, ‘Utrish’ Federal State Nature Reserve hosted an opening ceremony for ‘Woodman's Hut’ museum. The museum was built as part of ‘Protect Nature of Our Native Land. CPC- Utrish’ project focused on environmental education.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mikhail Grishankov, CPC Deputy General Director, RF Government Relations, Olga Shvab, Acting Director of the Utrish state natural reserve, citizens of Anapa and Novorossiysk, and representatives of youth environmental communities.
The museum building is placed on a pile foundation made of solid steel pipes and covered with aged timer to make it look credible.  The interior recreates the way of life of the past century’s woodmen and displays corresponding artifacts: wooden furniture made to special drawings that simulate antique pieces, a genuine Russian stove, authentic household items, historic pictures and documents telling a story about woodmen's life and work.  All of interior finishing including wooden walls, floors and ceilings was fabricated using sustainable materials and traditional construction techniques.
‘Woodman’s Hut’ will become a training facility for students and schoolchildren taking interest in the environment and forestry. It will also host master classes, tours and lectures dedicated to environmental protection matters.IMG-20250422-WA0005.jpg

Caspian Pipeline Consortium allocated some 1.5 million rubles to build the ‘Woodman’s Hut’ and install the Russian stove.
CPC and the Utrish natural reserve started cooperating back in 2022. Over the years, thanks to the Consortium’s assistance, the reserve territory was outfitted with new eco trails and a wooden entry area.  CPC personnel attend environment cleanup activities and events for the youth on environmental matters.
