CPC Safety Day in Elista

11.jpgThe 13th Annual CPC Safety Day 2025 took place in Elista on 20 August 2025. The corporate event was preceded by a CPC Safe Work Culture Development Leadership Summit.
The entire CPC management took part in the Safety Day following up on the Health, Safety, and Environment Shaping Plan. An opening ceremony included welcome addresses by Nikolay Gorban, CPC General Director, Gilyana Boskhomjiyeva, the chairperson of the Republic of Kalmikiya Government, CPC shareholder representatives - Transneft, KazmunayGas and Chevron Caspian Pipeline Consortium Company.
- The zero injury rate has  demonstrated for many years that we are following out HSE Shaping Plan consistently and effectively, steadily rolling out Leadership practices, and will continue working on it according to plan, said CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban in his address.
This year's event named “The Grand Steppe’s Epos” was attended by 1,684 guests and participants. The competitive program saw 28 competing teams, representing CPC’s regional units and its contractors. The organizers had developed all tasks in the form of a game which required the competitors not only to have  high competences but also demonstrate good physical condition, quick reaction, and will to win.33.jpg

According to the results of the competition program, the jury announced the teams that had showed the best results in the theoretical knowledge of occupational health, the ability to investigate incidents at work and identify root causes, to correctly issue work permits, to identify potential risks before work, to develop corrective actions to eliminate the identified risks. Transport safety and road traffic rules, emergency response, CPC Life Saving Rules, environmental safety basics, occupational health, etc. were also important topics of the competition program. 
The winner among the CPC units was the Western Region team. The second place went to the Central Region team. The Marine Terminal became bronze medalists.
Magistralny Vodovod was declared to receive the gold medal among contractors. The PromKhimSphera team took the second place. The third place was shared by KZG Service, MasterService, and IK Quantor.
Traditionally, all Safety Day participants received memorabilia prizes and gifts.
55.jpgAs a reminder, the CPC Safety Day has been taking place since 2012 being one of the most important activities to develop the Safe Work Culture, increase employee motivation in this area and demonstrate the commitment of the entire team to high occupational health standards. The Republic of Kalmykia participated in the event for the second time already. Back in 2019, it was held on open grounds near the village of Lola.

CPC Pipeline System is one of the major projects in energy sector in the CIS. The length of the Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km. This route transports over two-thirds of all Kazakhstan export oil, and crude from Russian oil fields, including those in the Caspian Region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPMs) that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore.
