Another Season of the Protect Nature of Our Native Land Project Started in the Stavropol Krai and Kalmykia

On 4-8 May 2026, the Stavropol State Agrarian University hosted the final stage of the We Are Nature Custodians Competition. 25 schoolchildren from the Stavropol Krai selected out of the absentee round winners took part therein. 
For several days, having formed teams, the participants of the We Are Nature Custodians Competition attended lessons and master classes at the leading departments of the University, Agrobiotechnology Center, Pelican Rehabilitation Center in the Moskovskoye village, Strizhament ecological path. They practiced water sampling in the Tashla river and Cold Springs, researched the environment conditions using bioindicators.  On the last day, the teams defended their environmental projects and attended the award ceremony.
At the same time, a republican forum of young ecologists was held in Elista within the framework of the Protect Nature of Our Native Land Project. 30 sixth-seventh-grade students underwent training in the laboratories of the Ecological/Biological Center of the Kalmykia State University named after B.B. Gorodovikov, took part in intellectual contests. An environmental quest “Learn about Nature” was arranged for 100 sixth-eighth-grade students. On 8 May, the Republican Russian Theater of Drama and Comedy staged a musical performance “Steppe and People. Epos of Our Days”.  
The environmental/educational project “Protect Nature of Our Native Land” has been implemented in Kalmykia since 2014, in the Stavropol Krai - since 2017. For CPC the purpose of such events is to draw public attention to the issues of preserving the biological diversity, to shape with the young local residents an ecological culture and an active life stance in respect of the local environment preservation problems, as well as to develop creative abilities in the children and teenagers.

CPC Pipeline System is one of the major projects in energy sector in the CIS. The length of the Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km. This route transports over two-thirds of all Kazakhstan export oil, and crude from Russian oil fields, including those in the Caspian Region.
