On July 21-22, 2026, CPC Shareholder representatives visited two pump stations located in Astrakhan Region and in the Republic of Kalmykia. The visit took place as a part of the on-site meeting dedicated to implementation of long-term investment projects.
Shareholders paid special attention to the status of the program for replacement of mainline pump units with gas turbine units with mainline pump units with electric motors and transfer of PS with gas turbine units to external power supply (the EPS Program). EPS Program pilot project is currently under active implementation at Komsomolsk PS.
On their first day the shareholder representatives (employees of Transneft, KazMunayGaz, Chevron and other companies) visited Astrakhan PS to visualize and estimate the scope of upcoming work at Komsomolsk PS. Astrakhan PS is similar in terms of buildings & installations, which had been constructed as part of Debottlenecking Program (DBNP) within the shortest possible time as well. Astrakhan PS upgrade under DBNP included construction of state-of-the-art mainline pump house, variable frequency drives (VFD) site, 0.4 kV and 10 kV indoor switchgear (ISG) building, packaged transformer sub-station (PTS), foam generator unit, etc. Capital Construction Department specialists gained valuable experience of interaction and mutual planning of work with teams of Operations Department and Corporate Security Division at DBNP implementation stage. Today, this experience is sought for during performance of work at Komsomolsk PS.
Shareholder representatives walked around and examined pump station facilities built as part of DBNP. The walk-around also included discussion of lessons learned after implementation of the Expansion Project and DBNP, as well as comments from Operations Department specialists with respect to practical experience in further operation of equipment, buildings and installations.
On July 22, 2026, CPC on-site meeting participants and shareholder representatives visited Komsomolsk PS in the Republic of Kalmykia. As part of the EPS Program implementation the grading work is finished, foundations of the future buildings & installations are 95% complete, and cable rack supports installation is actively progressing. In accordance with the schedule, in autumn, once Company supplied equipment and materials arrive, CPC plans to begin installation of buildings: mainline pump house, VFD, ISG, PTS, foam generator unit, and drain tank sites.

On-site meeting participants noted that in order to improve efficiency, safety and ease of constructed facilities operation, the mutual workshops are held at the initial design stage with engagement of Operations Department specialists. Recommendations of the latter are taken into account prior to start of design work, as well as at the later stage of detail design.
‘When initiating development of new projects we factor in the practical experience of similar facilities operation and all rational suggestions made by our colleagues from CPC Operations’ noted Dmitriy Medvedovskiy, CPC Deputy Technical Director, Engineering. ‘Thus, when designing new facilities under the EPS Program, we scrutinized the feedback regarding operation of facilities constructed as part of DBNP in 2019-2025’.
In particular, the design of new mainline pump house at Komsomolsk PS now features stationary connecting rack enabling foam generators maintenance. Previously, this maintenance required either lengthy installation of scaffolding, or special equipment along with shutdown of the station. Komsomolsk PS mainline pump house design also includes fire-damping valves positioning in the ventilation chamber so that permanent platforms can be arranged for their maintenance. CPC designers optimized solutions related to ISG and PTS crawl space, positioning of HVAC equipment, etc.
Once pilot project at Komsomolsk PS ends in 2027, CPC plans to proceed with EPS Program implementation at other consortium stations, namely at Komsomolsk PS and A-PS-4A.
As a reminder, the program for transfer of CPC facilities from gas turbines to external power supply is being implemented since 2024. The program provides for replacement of imported mainline pump units with domestically manufactured equipment. In 2025, CPC and UDM Management Company (a part of Transneft group) signed an agreement for manufacturing, delivery and installation supervision of 11 mainline pump units. In 2026, the tests began of fabricated prototypes: a pump at PS-7, CPC, and an electric motor at Torgili LODS, Transneft.
