The 14th Safety Day, an annual international event, took place in Astana, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on 9 September 2026. The CPC Safe Work Culture Development Leadership Summit preceded the corporate event.This year, as CPC celebrates its 30th anniversary, the Safety Day featured a “CPC 3.0” logo. This logo serves as both a tribute to the CPC's anniversary and a symbol of its transition to a new level of excellence in work, to a new stage of Safe Work Culture.
Nikolay Gorban, Consortium General Director, and Yerik Meirkhanov, Deputy Akim of Astana, greeted the guests at the event opening ceremony.
“With each passing year, the Safety Day engages more and more specialists and managers. It contributes to improvement of teamwork coordination, strengthening of friendly ties, and shaping the team spirit,” said Nikolay Gorban, CPC General Director, in his speech.
This year, around 600 guests and participants attended the event. 224 persons from 28 teams representing CPC regional subdivisions, partners, and Consortium's contractors took part in the contest program. The contestants participated in interactive sessions and competitions in the following key disciplines: occupational safety, industrial safety, incident investigation, first aid, emergency response, and environmental responsibility. The hosts had developed all tasks in the form of a game, which required the contestants to not only have good theory knowledge, but also high concentration, physical prowess, and will to win.
The Eastern Region team won the competition among the CPC subdivisions. The second place went to the Western Region team. The team of CPC Long-term Investment Projects claimed the third place, completing the top three.
Giprovostokneft JSC team won the competition among the contractors. Magistralniy Vodovod LLP team claimed the silver medal in the hard-fought battle. Three teams represented by Ural Dynamic Machines LLC, Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, and Starstroi LLC won the bronze medals.
Every year, all Safety Day participants, without exception, receive commemorative prizes and gifts, and this event was no different. At the closing ceremony, representatives of CPC shareholders — NC KazMunayGas JSC, Transneft PJSC, and Chevron Caspian Pipeline Consortium Company — praised the exceptional preparation and hosting of the event, as well as its high contribution to promoting the Safe Work Culture.
It is worth noting that the CPC Safety Day dates back to 2012 and, as it became an international event in 2017, it now serves as one of the most important activities in developing the Safe Work Culture, increasing employee motivation in this area, and demonstrating the commitment of the entire team to high occupational health standards. The Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the event for the third time. In 2022, the 10th Safety Day was held in Atyrau; in 2024, the 12th Caspian Pipeline Consortium Safety Day was held in Almaty.
