The Analytical Center of the Russian Government held the fifth jubilee presentation of the rating of Russian oil & gas companies regarding their transparency in terms of ecological responsibility. In a formal ceremony organized by the World Wildlife Fund, the National Rating Agency and Сreon Group and supported by the Russian Energy Ministry and the Ministry of Natural Resources, held on 30 November, awards were given to oil & gas industry companies that showed the best performance in 2017.
Caspian Pipeline Consortium participating in the rating for the second year in a row was named the winner in one of the most prestigious nominations, Environmental Impact. CPC showed the best performance among all 22 participants. Based on the rating’s methodology, independent experts took into account emissions and discharges, contaminated land and spill areas, as well as water consumption.
The consortium was also included in the top ten ecologically-responsible Russian oil and gas companies, improving its performance in another 2 key rating areas: environmental management and information disclosure.
As a reminder, the annual ecological responsibility rating of oil and gas companies has been performed since 2014. In total, 22 major Russian oil and gas industry companies have been appraised this year.
