CPC guarantees efficient and environmentally safe movement of crude oil

CPC attends a meeting of the International Association of Oil Transporters in China

Nikolay Gorban, CPC General Director, took part in the 10th Meeting of the Governing Board of the International Association of Oil Transporters (IAOT) on 26–27 November in the PRC’s capital, Beijing.
The meeting recapped on conferences and exhibitions carried out by the Association in 2018, reviewed the results of the activities of IAOT expert working groups for energy efficiency, legal issues and supply. The participants also visited the Beijing Oil and Gas Dispatcher Center and the CNPC Dispatcher Center. The meeting also discussed questions of the 2019 Best Professional Competition hosted by KazTransOil with the involvement of representatives from IAOT members.


The members of the Association are Transneft (Russian Federation), Gomeltransneft Druzhba (Republic of Belarus), MERO CR (Czech Republic), Transpetrol (Slovak Republic), MOL (Hungary), KazTransOil (Republic of Kazakhstan) and China National Petroleum Corporation (People’s Republic of China). Caspian Pipeline Consortium is an IAOT observer.

CPC Pipeline System is one of the major investment projects in energy sector with participation of foreign capital in the CIS. The length of the Tengiz–Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km; it transports over two thirds of all Kazakhstan export crude, as well as crude from Russian oil fields, including the Caspian Region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore, also amid poor weather conditions.
