On 17 June 2022, at the XXV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2022), a meeting was held between CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban and Head of the Republic of Kalmykia Batu Khasikov. The parties discussed Consortium’s operations plans, including the issues of occupational safety, environmental safety, reliability of equipment within the pipeline system. It was noted that CPC is one of the strategic partners of the Republic of Kalmykia, taking an active part not only in the development of oil movement sector, but also in resolving multiple social objectives of the region.
As a reminder, in April 2022 Nikolai Gorban, General Director of the CPC, and Batu Khasikov, Head of Kalmykia, signed a new five-year Agreement on cooperation between the Consortium and the Republic. It replaced an analogous document of 2017. In accordance with the Agreement, CPC continues to support a number of socially significant spheres of the Republic life - healthcare, education, culture, children’s sports and targeted aid to the most vulnerable population.
In 2019, 2020 and 2021 Caspian Pipeline Consortium paid almost RUB 7.5 Bln of taxes to the budget of Kalmykia. In 2021, CPC allocated over 93 M Rubles to the charity projects in the republic.
Republic of Kalmykia is crossed by a 200 km section of main pipeline Tengiz-Novorossiysk, with three Consortium’s pump stations located here: Komsomolskaya PS, PS-2 and PS-3. Komsomolskaya PS is currently being upgraded under Debottlenecking Program: a fifth turbine pump and one surge relief system tank will be installed.
The CPC Pipeline System is one of CIS largest energy investment projects that involves foreign capital. The length of the Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km. This route moves over two thirds of all Kazakhstan export oil along with crude from Russian fields including those in the Caspian region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM), allowing tankers to be loaded safely at significant distance offshore, including in poor weather conditions
