New School to Be Built in the Atyrau Region of Kazakhstan

stone1.jpgOn 15 September 2022, a groundbreaking ceremony for a school of 900 pupils was staged in the Talgairan microdistrict of Atyrau. This charity project is supported by Caspian Pipeline Consortium.
The ceremony was attended by Atyrau Region Akim Serik Shapkenov, CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban, CPC Deputy General Director for RK Government Relations Kairgeldy Kabyldin, Acting Head of the Atyrau Region Construction Department Nurbergen Kussainov, Acting Head of the City Construction Department Erlan Mussin. 
Opening the ceremony, Atyrau Region Akim Serik Shapkenov underscored the importance of a new social facility construction.

“This is a long-awaited event for the residents of the Talgairan microdistrict, - said Serik Shapkenov. – Today, the microdistrict is under intensive development and construction of a new school will help tackle the problem of places shortage in the educational institutions of our city. I would like to thank CPC for a continuous support in the construction of socially important facilities. Over the years of our cooperation, the Company has made a significant contribution to the development of the Atyrau Region social infrastructure”.

During two decades from 2001 to 2021, the Consortium invested about KZT 11 billion (over USD 28 million) in the charity projects on the territory of the Atyrau Region, including construction and refurbishment of schools, kindergartens and medical institutions.

The future school territory covers three hectares, where a three-storey building of 12,096.99 sq m total area will be erected. The design provides for zoning of the school space into three blocks: for primary (1-4), middle (5-9) and senior (10-12) schoolchidren. The total number of classrooms – 36, capacity – 25 pupils. The classrooms will be furnished with an up-to-date educational and demonstration equipment. The chemistry, physics and biology laboratories will be provided with water supply, ventilation and compressors. Lingaphone and multimedia equipment will be installed in the foreign language classrooms. The computer-equipped classrooms are provided for informatics lessons. The combined workshops for technology studies will be equipped pursuant to disciplines. So, the fitter workshop for boys will have machine-tools, workbenches and a muffle furnace. Sewing machines, mirrors and dummies will be installed in the workshop for girls. The culinary room will have tables with sinks, racks, electric stove, refrigerator, kitchen and home appliances.

Apart from the classrooms, the school will feature two libraries, medical station, two gymnasiums, assembly hall for 210 seats and canteen for 312 seats.

Special attention is paid to landscaping of the school grounds. It is intended to build here a stadium with a football pitch, race track, zone of exercise machines, tennis court and volleyball court. Besides, place will be allocated for initial military training classes, a parking lot will be arranged for school buses and private motor vehicles with slots for disabled person vehicles.    The new educational institution is scheduled for opening in 2024.

CPC Pipeline System is one of the major investment projects with foreign capital in energy sector in the CIS. The length of the Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km. This route transports over two-thirds of all Kazakhstan export crude, as well as crude from Russian oil fields, including those in the Caspian Region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore, also amid poor weather conditions.
