On
24 April 2023, a business meeting was held in Astana between Almasadam
Satkaliyev, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and CPC General
Director Nikolay Gorban. It was the first meeting of the Head of Kazakhstan
energy industry appointed on 4 April 2023, with the Head of the international
company. The
parties discussed the results of completed and planned work under the
Debottlenecking Program (DBNP) to accept additional crude volumes from Shippers
into the Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline system this year and in the next several
years. The DBNP main task has currently been accomplished - CPC pipeline system
mechanical throughput capacity has reached 72.5 mln tons from Kazakhstan and up
to 81.5 mln tons in transit through the RF.
The
Company’s Head informed the Minister of the progress of the routine maintenance
and major overhaul program at the site facilities and on the line section of
CPC crude pipeline. In addition, Nikolay Gorban informed the Minister of the
successful hose replacement on SPM 2 at the Consortium’s Marine Terminal near
Novorossiysk which is close to completion.
In
the course of the meeting, the topic of improving the industrial and
environmental safety and occupational health at the international oil
transportation Company’s facilities in Atyrau Oblast of the Republic of
Kazakhstan was also reviewed.
Subsequently,
the parties exchanged opinions on a wide range of issues relating to the status
and prospects for the development of the oil transportation industry in Russia
and Kazakhstan, the Consortium’s role in it and preliminary results of CPC
performance in the first quarter of 2023. It was noted that in the next several
weeks the eight-thousandth tanker since the commencement of the pipeline system
operation would be loaded at the Company’s Marine Terminal.

CPC Pipeline
System is one of the major investment projects with foreign capital in energy
sector in the CIS. The length of the Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511
km. This route transports over two-thirds of all Kazakhstan export crude, as
well as crude from Russian oil fields, including those in the Caspian Region.
CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that
allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore, also amid poor
weather conditions.
