Tengizchevroil oil producer company
completed scheduled maintenance on its equipment on 21-24 August 2023. During
this time of reduced pumping mode at the upstream Tengiz-Novorossiysk section,
CPC also implemented a number of important activities at Tengiz PS under both
Debottlenecking Program (DBNP) and Base Business. Part of the DBNP activities included
physical completion of work to connect the second group of new manifolds to the
PS process flowchart via new booster pump units. The old booster pump building
was disconnected, manifolds were disconnected from process pipelines and the
first and second groups of SVRFT-20000 tanks were also disconnected. Thanks to
this operation the old booster pump building and manifolds were successfully
prepared for dismantle.
As part of the Base Business project at
Tengiz PS, the upgrade of the fire and gas detection system (FGDS) was fully
completed, including adjustment and tuning stages. This event became a
milestone for the entire CPC Eastern Region: the Kazakh section was fully
converted to the modern software and hardware for the FGDS of Russian
manufacturing, which significantly enhanced the reliability of the Consortium’s
facilities operation.
During the said days, the work was also
completed on the line segment of CPC Eastern Region. Contractors repaired the
defects of the crude pipeline welds discovered inside the casing under the
motor road near to Korolevskoye field. The scope of work included construction
of a temporary motor road, excavation of the defected pipeline spots with
subsequent repair and installation of repair sleeves in the form of crimped
shingle couplings of P5U type.

CPC
Pipeline System is one of the major investment projects with foreign capital in
energy sector in the CIS. The length of the Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline is
1,511 km. This route transports over two-thirds of all Kazakhstan export crude,
as well as crude from Russian oil fields, including those in the Caspian
Region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM)
that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore, also amid
poor weather conditions.
