CPC guarantees efficient and environmentally safe movement of crude oil

20250526-1.jpgOn 26 May 2025 in Astana, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov held a working meeting with the CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban.

The event was also attended by Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC KazMunayGas Askhat Khasenov and Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Zhamauov.

The chief executive of the international consortium informed the Head of the RK Government about the 2024 results and successful completion of the recovery work at Kropotkinskaya PS, which was put into operation on 23 May 2025.

20250526-2.jpgAlso, Nikolay Gorban described the current activities of the oil pipeline company, including the implementation of the present and future investment programs, the upgrading of the process facilities and the enhancement of the operation reliability of the Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline system.

The cooperation between CPC and JSC KazTransOil is developing. In 2024, the employees of the companies implemented successfully the project of construction and tie-in of a new connecting line between the CPC oil pipeline and Kasymov PS (JSC KazTransOil), thus enhancing the operation reliability and flexibility of the pipeline systems of the oil transport enterprises.

20250526-3.jpgIn the course of the meeting, stability was noted of the CPC-K tax payments to the Kazakhstan budget, as well as the current and planned quantities of crude oil delivered by the shippers and provision of its uninterrupted shipments to the world markets.

The Head of the Consortium told the Prime Minister about the scheduled shipment of the billionth ton of crude oil at the CPC Marine Terminal in October this year and invited him to take part in the ceremony dedicated to the event.

The social projects in the Atyrau Region are implemented dynamically. In 2024, CPC-K allocated KZT 4.4 billion for the charity projects. Among recently completed landmark projects – construction of a school for 900 pupils in the Talgairan micro-district of the Atyrau city. In 2025, it is planned to hand over equipment for district hospitals, procure ambulance vehicles and a school bus. Besides, the CPC charity finds next year will be used for construction of the Youth House in Atyrau.

It was also noted that the staff of the Consortium and the Shareholders were doing their best to ensure that the Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline system continued being the safest, logistically sound and cost effective route for crude oil delivery from the West Kazakhstan oilfields to the world markets.

CPC Pipeline System is one of the major projects in energy sector in the CIS. The length of the Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km. This route transports over two-thirds of all Kazakhstan export oil, and crude from Russian oil fields, including those in the Caspian Region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore.
