Sea Water State Monitoring in the CPC Marine Terminal Area Found No Exceedance of Pollutants MPC

Following the CPC Marine Terminal (MT) emergency control and recovery, and after the local emergency regime was lifted on August 30, 2025, constant monitoring of the sea water state in the CPC MT water area and nearby areas is provided by the accredited third-party laboratory.
Starting evening of August 30, 2025 to date, samples are taken at five control points twice a day – in the morning and in the evening, a total of 10 samples per day. Environmental monitoring information as of August 30 is available at the link.
According to the updated monitoring data, no exceedance of the maximum permissible concentrations (MPC) of pollutants in the water was recorded on August 31 and September 1, 2025, the data sampling plan is attached. It should be noted that the MPC standard for the content of petroleum products in fishery basins is 0.05 mg/dm3.
Sampling point map is attached:

- CP1 - to the east of CPC-2 SPM, in the direction of Shirokaya Balka,

- CP2 - at 1,000 m towards the shore from CPC-3 SPM

- CP3 – opposite the Durso village beach,

- CP4 – opposite the Frigate Resort (Sukhaya Schel ecosite),

- CP5 – Maliy Utrish area.

CP1 control point was selected in order to confirm that the oil slick had not propagated to the east of CPC-2 SPM. CP2, CP3, CP4, CP5 control points were selected based on the oil slick trajectory at the time of the spill.

Furthermore, shoreline monitoring is provided on a constant basis in the CPC MT water area and in the area of Yuzhnaya Ozereevka and Khutor Durso. No oil contamination of the shoreline was identified. Notably, no sorbents were used during the emergency response operation. Samples maps Aug 31-Sep 1
