Sea Water Ecomonitoring Continues in the CPC MT area: No Excess in Pollutant Values Identified

Caspian Pipeline Consortium pursues ecomonitoring of sea water condition in the water area of the CPC Marine Terminal (MT) and in the adjacent areas via a third-party certified laboratory.  Monitoring is ongoing after completion of an emergency response operation at the MT and lifting of the local emergency state on August 30, 2025.

Starting evening of August 30, 2025 to date, samples are taken at five control points twice a day – in the morning and at night, a total of 10 samples per day. Environmental monitoring information for August 31 - September 01 is available at:

According to the updated monitoring data, no excess of the maximum permissible concentrations (MPC) of pollutants in the water was recorded. Data sampling plan is attached. It should be noted that the MPC standard for the content of petroleum products in fishery basins is 0.05 mg/dm3.

Sampling point map is attached:

- CP1 - to the east of CPC-2 SPM, in the direction of Shirokaya Balka,

- CP2 - at 1,000 m towards the shore from CPC-3 SPM,

- CP3 - across from the Durso village beach,

- CP4 - across from Fregat (Sukhaya Schel),

- CP5 - Maly Utrish area.

CP1 control point was selected in order to confirm that the oil slick had not propagated to the east of CPC-2 SPM. CP2, CP3, CP4, CP5 control points are located along the oil slick trajectory at the time of the spill.

In parallel, ongoing monitoring of the shoreline was in progress within CPC MT water area, in the vicinity of Yuzhnaya Ozereevka and Durso Khutor.  No contamination of the shoreline with petroleum products has been identified. No sorbents were used during the emergency response operation. Sampling maps for September 02, 03, 04:
