CPC and KTO Heads Had a Business Meeting in Astana

On 16 February 2023, Nikolay Gorban, General Director of the International Consortium, and Talgat Kurmanbayev, General Director of KazTransOil, conducted a business meeting in CPC office in Astana.

The parties discussed the progress of the current work as part of the implementation by KazTransOil of the contract for maintenance, repair and emergency response at CPC-K crude pipeline system facilities in the Republic of Kazakhstan. It was noted that KazTransOil’s specialists were successfully mastering new types of work, demonstrating constantly high level of compliance with the occupational health and safety requirements and high readiness to emergency response.

The Company’s Heads exchanged their views on the best world practices in operation, safety and environmental protection culture.

As a reminder: CPC and KTO have been efficiently cooperating since the commencement of CPC operation in 2001. Thus, to provide an access to the Shippers to CPC crude pipeline, KazTransOil put into operation at its PS named after T. Kassymov additional facilities used to inject hydro carbons delivered by Uzen - Atyrau, Kenkiyak - Atyrau and Martyshy - Atyrau pipelines and the railroad to CPC system.

CPC Pipeline System is one of the major investment projects with foreign capital in energy sector in the CIS. The length of the Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km. This route transports over two-thirds of all Kazakhstan export crude, as well as crude from Russian oil fields, including those in the Caspian Region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore, also amid poor weather conditions.
