The Navy Cap – a traditional military/patriotic event
was staged in the Novorossiysk Municipal Entity on the night of 3-4 February 2025. In memory of the troops which landed in 1943 on the Taman
peninsula to liberate it from the Hitler forces, navy caps were set afloat with
honors in the Tsemes bay near the Yuzhnaya Ozereevka village.
The CPC staff also participated in this annual event. On
the eve, the Consortium employees volunteered to clean up the beach in the
Yuzhnaya Ozereevka village, where the main assault forces landed. In support of
this traditional military/patriotic function, CPC provided a motor boat to go
to sea and put navy caps and flowers on the water.
Oil pipeliners took an active part in the ceremony – along
with the residents of the Glebovsk Rural District, schoolchildren, navy seamen,
marines and cadets of the Maritime Academy. Within the framework of the
All-Russia Military/Patriotic Campaign “Navy Cap – 2025”, flame was ignited at
the Unvanquished Memorial in the Yuzhnaya Ozereevka village by the torch
delivered from the Square of Heroes. A literary/musical composition “Stand up
for the Motherland” was performed, followed by setting a navy cap and a flower
garland afloat in the Black Sea in memory of the landing force heroes.
According to the tradition, the local residents from Gelendzhik to Anapa
lighted lamps and put them on the windowsills. Warm lights were on all through
the night in honor of those who had made their contribution to the Great
Victory.
It should be noted that the Navy Cap patriotic event
has been staged since 1968. One of its initiators was Elena Ostapenko, a nurse
in the landing force under the command of major Caesar Kunikov. In 2024, the ceremony
of wreath and navy cap laying at the locations of assault troops landing was
carried out to coincide with the historically true time.
In 2022, the CPC Panorama corporate magazine prepared
a publication on the landing force history.
