Kazakhstan President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev underlined the importance of the uninterrupted operation of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium in the interview to Al Jazeera TV channel on May 29, 2025.
“Russia is the strategic partner of Kazakhstan, our direct neighbor and ally. The boundary between our country and Russia is the longest in the world. Moreover, we rely on Russia as our strategic partner, and, in particular, we rely on CPC. Just the other day I had a phone conversation with President Putin, and, I must admit, we discussed a number of issues related to CPC. I am certain that CPC will continue to be a good instrument for transportation of Kazakhstan oil through Russia to European markets and beyond” said Kasym-Jomart Tokayev to journalists.
It is worth reminding that CPC has expanded the throughput capacity of the pipeline system from 67 million tons to 82 million tons of crude per year. In 2024, the project of construction and connection of the new bridge pipe between CPC oil pipeline and KazTransOil PS named after T. Kassymov was completed within the framework of CPC and KazTransOil cooperation.
The program of construction of external power supply facilities and replacement of gas turbine unit driven mainline pump units with electric motor driven units is being implemented in accordance with the approved schedule, and the prototype has been tested successfully. The preparation for replacement of two single point moorings at the CPC Marine Terminal is ongoing.
On May 26, 2025, during the business meeting between Olzhas Bektenov, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban, the parties emphasized the commitment of the Consortium's employees and shareholders to maintain the Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline system as the safest, logistically sound and economically viable route for transporting oil from the fields of Western Kazakhstan to world markets.
