On July 18, 2025, SPM CPC-3 was decommissioned for scheduled preventive maintenance at the CPC Marine Terminal. During repair activities, CPC Contractor replaced two expansion joints, and subsequently routine operation of the berth proceeded. Currently, the scheduled work is ongoing to change out floating and subsea hoses, starting August 15 of this year. SPM was decommissioned for up to three weeks, subject to favorable weather conditions as a factor affecting the safety of repair operations.
CPC Shippers were notified about the repair activities in advance with the view to ensure the continuity of crude oil production and transportation process. The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan takes into account the schedule of routine preventive repairs at the CPC facilities when forming the schedule of crude oil transportation via the Tengiz - Novorossiysk pipeline.
On August 14, the decommissioned SPM CPC-2 was surveyed by RMRS in order to redeem the class at FAU “Russian Maritime Register of Shipping”. According to the RMRS conclusion, the SPM CPC-2 class was renewed. During the downtime, all floating and subsea hoses were replaced at SPM CPC-2 as per the 2025 plan, including also 2 expansion joints. The aforesaid single-point mooring is currently operating in a standard mode. Crude oil is lifted via SPM CPC-1 and SPM CPC-3.
As a reminder: CPC adheres to an uncompromising position on the environmental protection and safety during the operation of the Consortium’s Marine Terminal equipment in the Black Sea and the prevention of oil spill emergencies which is the reason for the current restrictions.

The CPC pipeline system is one of the largest projects in the energy sector in the CIS. Length of the Tengiz–Novorossiysk Pipeline is 1,511 km.
