Fourth Novorossiysk Chimes Festival Was Held With CPC Support

пострелиз.jpgThe Novorossiysk Chimes festival completed on September 06 with a spectacular gala concert at the City Theater.   This year, the festival followed a new format. August 15 through September 06, performance stages across the city hosted 9 concerts attended by more than 6,000 spectators. Symphony music and opera that have become customary for the festival were organically complemented with jazz and cinema themes. Patriotic pieces were given special emphasis on the occasion of the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.  Alpine horn and church bells were introduced into the festival program this year. Ballet Night was also presented for the first time.

Novorossiysk Chimes music theme was created back in 1960 by Dmitri Shostakovich to become the official anthem of the hero city of Novorossiysk. The first festival was conducted with assistance of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium on September 10, 2022 at the Forum Square. Some 3,500 visitors attended the event. It was a success, and a decision followed to deliver the festival on an annual basis.
