IAOT Discussion Platform Participants Meet in Atyrau

1.jpgThe meeting of the participants of the International Association of Oil Transporters (IAOT) platform for discussion and experience exchange in the field of Health, Industrial Safety, and Environmental Protection took place in Atyrau on October 8-9, 2025. The event was attended by occupational and industrial safety managers of six pipeline operators from Russia, Kazakhstan, Hungary, and PRC: CPC-R, Transneft, KazTransOil, MOL, KKT, MunaiTas, along with discipline experts from North Caspian Operating Company (NCOC), the developer of Kashagan - largest oil deposit in the Caspian Sea.
The meeting was chaired by CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban in CPC Eastern Region office in Atyrau. Participants shared their experience, familiarized themselves with company achievements in the field of failure-free operation and Safe Work Culture development policies, and discussed inter-company data exchange methodology, which would enable unified approach to Safe Work Culture development for all interested IAOT members.
Safety is not only caring about people, it is a strategic asset - noted  CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban in his speech. - It supports stability of the entire production chain, strengthens trust of shareholders and clients, reduces expenses, and makes our business resilient to external challenges. We witness this in CPC every day. When managers are physically present on site, when feedback is honest and timely, when everybody has the right to stop unsafe work - the production pace becomes manageable.2.jpg

Afterwards, the event participants proceeded with field visits to Atyrau PS (CPC-K) and Shmanov PS (KazTransOil), two oil pump stations located in the vicinity of the oil capital of Kazakhstan. On-site, the visit participants discussed elaboration of unified approach to operational risks assessment, as well as practical application of safety tools to promote sustainable and progressive development of Safe Work Culture.
Creation of the discussion platform was unanimously supported by IAOT Governing Board at the 25th session of the international association in Sochi, June 2025. At the moment, CPC has already accumulated significant progress in and continues to further improve the efficient Safety Culture practices, including the Health, Safety and Environment Leadership Culture as the unalienable constituent part thereof. Moreover, the Consortium has incorporated CPC Life Saving Rules 12+1 and other measures aimed at achieving accident-free operation, which also apply to contractors of the Company. Policies of the CPC HSE Strategic Plan for 2025-2027 are being consistently implemented.
The IAOT was established in 2013 as an international non-profit, non-governmental organization. The IAOT’s key tasks include comprehensive assistance in supporting continuous deliveries of oil and petroleum products to the world energy markets and in developing interrelationship among the Association participants at a national, regional and international level.
CPC upgraded its IAOT status from an observer to a full member in April 2024.
