CPC guarantees efficient and environmentally safe movement of crude oil

The Project is designed to increase the trunk pipeline capacity

CPC General Director had a business meeting with the Akim of Atyrau Oblast

A business meeting between Nikolay Gorban, CPC General Director, and Serik Shapkenov, Atyrau Oblast Akim, was held on July 1, 2026. The Parties discussed operations of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium in the Region, focusing on production, environmental protection and social responsibility.
The CPC pipeline system runs for 450km through the Atyrau Oblast of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This is where the Tengiz–Novorossiysk main oil pipeline begins; oil transportation along the 1,511-kilometer route in Kazakhstan is ensured by four oil pump stations— PS Tengiz, PS Atyrau, PS Issatai and PS Kurmangazy. To date, more than 1.05 billion tons of oil have been transported through the CPC pipeline system. Since the beginning of CPC-K JSC operation, tax revenues for the Atyrau Region budget have amounted to 1 billion 271 million U.S. dollars.
Environment protection activities in the CPC operation areas are an integral part of CPC Environmental Policy. In Atyrau, the Consortium employees and their families regularly attend the “Clean River Bank” environmental campaign, tidying up the riverbank along the Ural River. In the spring of 2024, CPC supported the Akimat providing personnel and specialized equipment to help combat record-high flooding along the Ural River. CPC employees and specialized equipment from the Astrakhan Oblast of Russia also took part in the flood control activities.
In 2023, in the Republic of Kazakhstan, CPC-K was awarded the “Paryz” State Prize in the “Best Socially Responsible Enterprise” category. Since the start of oil pipeline operation in 2001, the Consortium has allocated approximately KZT 1.38 billion annually to social projects and charitable programs in the Atyrau Oblast. New schools, kindergartens and medical facilities have been built in Atyrau and other localities in the Region. The Consortium supports the Region’s cultural, educational and healthcare centers by providing them with transport, equipment and furniture.
Charity programs: “CPC to First-Graders” and “New Year Holidays Together With CPC”, are being implemented each year. Between 2001 and 2025, the total amount of charitable support for the Region exceeded KZT 17 billion. Among recent major projects in the Region is the construction of a 900-seat school in the new Talgairan microdistrict of Atyrau.
As noted at the meeting between leadership of Atyrau Oblast and the oil pipeline company responsible for the majority of Kazakhstan’s oil exports, the cooperation between CPC and the Akimat is focused not only on addressing immediate challenges, but also on long-term prospects.
For example, the annual Jas Tolqyn (“New Wave”) Young Talents Festival held in Atyrau gives the younger generation a chance to showcase their talent on the big stage in Kazakhstan and Russia and become professional actors, singers or musicians. Equipping regional schools with state-of-the-art chemistry laboratories aims to provide career guidance toward specializations that are in high demand in the leading oil-producing region of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
