Knowledge Day: To school with CPC

n preparation for Knowledge Day in Russia and Kazakhstan, approximately 11,100 first-graders from the Atyrau Region of the Republic of Kazakhstan and four regions of the Russian Federation—the Astrakhan Oblast, the Republic of Kalmykia, and the Stavropol and Krasnodar Krais—were prepared for school with CPC’s support. As part of the traditional annual charity program "CPC to First-Graders," children from areas along the Tengiz-Novorossiysk oil pipeline route received modern, lightweight, comfortable backpacks containing a full set of school supplies.

The weight of a school backpack does not exceed 520 g. Each backpack has adjustable straps, side pockets, stable legs, and is equipped with reflective stripes that are visible from afar in the dark.

The set of school accessories counts 43 items and includes a pencil case, copybooks, a drawing pad, color paper and hard paper kits, color paints, brushes, pens, pencils, felt-tips, plasticine, rulers, and scissors. All items have safety certificates and comply with sanitary norms and regulatory recommendations in Russia and Kazakhstan.

In the Astrakhan Oblast, about 1.7 thousand first-grade schoolchildren from the Yenotaevsky, Krasnoyarsky, Limansky, Narimanovsky, and Kharabalinsky Districts received gifts from CPC. In the Republic of Kalmykia, 1.9 thousand backpacks with school kits were granted to first-graders of Elista, the Iki-Bulsky and Chernozemelsky Districts. In the Stavropol Krai, first-graders from Apanasenkovsky, Izobilnensky, Ipatovsky, Novoaleksandrovsky, Trunovsky and Turkmensky Districts received more 2 thousand gifts from CPC. In the Krasnodar Krai, more than 3,000 first-graders from the Abinsky, Dinksy, Kavkazsky, Korenovsky, Krasnoarmeysky, Kramsky, Tbilissky, and Ust-Labinsky Districts were prepared for school in the same way. In Novorossiysk, 1.7 thousand first-graders received gifts from CPC. In the Atyrau Region, orthopedic backpacks with a full set of school supplies from CPC were received by around 400 schoolchildren from the Zhylyoysky, Kurmangazinsky, Indersky, and Makhambetsky Districts.

For 15 years now, the CPC to First-Graders charity program has been continuously implemented in the regions where the company operates. Being completely equipped with school supplies from the Consortium, on the one hand, helps children to feel more comfortable in the new conditions of starting a school life, and, on the other, serves as timely support to parents in balancing a family budget. In addition to the CPC to First-Graders, New Year and Christmas Holidays together with CPC, CPC to Talented Children Festival-Contest and Protect Nature of Our Native Land Environment Awareness Project are famous among the traditional charity programs.

CPC Crude Oil Pipeline System is one of the major projects in the CIS energy sector. The length of the Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km.
