The fifth anniversary Novorossiysk Chimes classical music festival kicks off on September 25, 2026 in Novorossiysk. This year, the cultural event marks the 120th anniversary of Dmitry Shostakovich, who composed the official anthem of the Hero City. Traditionally, the festival is held with the charity support from JSC Caspian Pipeline Consortium – R.
Similarly to the last year, over the course of the eight-day festival, the events will take place at several venues throughout the city. The opening ceremony on September 25, 2026 at 6 p.m. in Krasnaya Ploschad mall (Sovetov Str., 2) will feature a movie about Shostakovich, ‘I’m Writing to Shostakovich’ event, photo session and the Black Sea Symphony Orchestra concert. In the next days (September 26 - October 2), the festival program will continue in the Palace of Creativity Lenina av., 97), the Marine Cultural Center (Adm. Serebryakov Embankment, 9), the Novorossiysk City Theater Sovetov Str., 53), the Palace of Culture (village Myskhako), Heroes Square, the City Palace of Culture Sovetov Str., 9).
During the festival, the audience will view and listen to the ballet divertissement ‘Russia Throughout the Dance. The Symphony of Nations’, the chamber orchestra of the Rostov Conservatory Musica della Vita, works by Bach's, Mozart, Bruch, Weber and Sibelius performed by the Black Sea Symphony Orchestra jointly with the winers of the Orchestra Soloist Competition, etc. Another highlight of the festival will be a musical and artistic plein-air event featuring orchestra members and students of children's art school named after S. Erzya
The festival will end in the Novorossiysk City Theater (Sovetov Str., 53) on October 2 with a Gala Concert ‘Dmitry Shostakovich. Music Standing the Test of Time’ featuring great works by the composer, including Symphony No. 7 called Leningradskaya with a light show.
Every year, the Novorossiysk Chimes classical music festival proves its immense popularity among residents and visitors of the Hero City. The concerts draw thousands of spectators, music connoisseurs invariably praise the festival program - symphonic masterpieces, fragments from famous operas and ballets.

In 2018, CPC earned the honorary Arts Patron of the Year Award by the RF Ministry of Culture for the reconstruction of the Kuban Culture Center in Novorossiysk. In 2021, CPC purchased acoustic, lighting and video equipment, prefabricated stage complexes and bleachers for the Marine Cultural Center municipal autonomous institution. At the same time, the municipal budgetary institution the Palace of Children and Youth Creativity named after N. Sipyagin received a large-format LED screen and the Kuban Culture Center received a stationary projector for the auditorium. In 2026, several thousands of young Novorossiysk citizens participated in the traditional CPC to Talented Children Festival.
