Winners in each category were announced and awarded with presentation cups, diplomas, certificates of commendation and prizes at the festival opening ceremony that had a gala concert of Russian pop music stars at the end.
Recognizing its environmental responsibility, Caspian Pipeline Consortium is focusing on minimization of its environmental impact from the pipeline operation. Therefore, it uses most advanced and environmentally friendly technologies, such as: crude oil tanks with floating roofs, single-point mooring buoys and a unique automated control system for all stages of crude oil transportation and loading. The company is certified as compliant with principal international standards and operates in close collaboration with environmental agencies. CPC was recertified in ISO 14001:2004 this April.
In regions of the pipeline route CPC conducts oil spill response drills on a regular basis and replenishes aquatic bioresources. It is important to mention that CPC not only complies with environmental standards but also demands the same from its contractors.
CPC pipeline system is one of the largest investment projects in the energy industry with participation of foreign capital on the CIS territory. The length of the pipeline connecting the oil fields in Western Kazakhstan with the Marine Terminal near Novorossiysk is 1,511 km. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with single point moorings which allow for safe tanker lifting at a considerable distance from the shore, also when the weather conditions are unfavorable.
