The Project is designed to increase the trunk pipeline capacity

Working meeting with KazMunayGas leadership

On 27 January 2022, in Nur-Sultan, a working meeting took place between CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban and Daniyar Berlibayev, KazMunayGas Management Board Deputy Chairman for oil transportation, international projects and the construction of the Saryarka gas pipeline.

In the course of the meeting, measures were discussed currently taken by CPC management to create conditions for safe operation of the Consortium’s oil pipeline system.

In addition, the KazMunayGas representative, as a CPC shareholder, was separately interested in matters around the progressive execution of the Debottlenecking Program (DBNP). Among the topics of the discussion were the Consortium’s performance results in 2021 and plans for the current year, as well as pressing issues of international cooperation in the field of energy resource transportation.

In 2021, Kazakhstani shippers transported 53,071,814 tons of crude oil via the CPC pipeline system. The highest volumes were delivered from the Tengiz, Karachaganak and Kashagan fields - 26,579,365 tons, 10,285,250 tons and 15,743,555 tons of crude oil, respectively.

2022 will become an important milestone in DBNP execution: before the end of the year, it is planned to complete major work activities which will allow the Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline to pump up to 83 mln tons of crude oil per annum. Planned projects are being successfully executed at all construction sites - from Tengiz to the Marine Terminal.

For reference: KazMunayGas is one of the largest shareholders in CPC. The National Company represents in the Consortium the Republic of Kazakhstan interest of 19%. On July 01, 2018 KazTransOil, a KMG subsidiary, commenced performance under the contract for maintenance, repair and emergency response at the CPC-K pipeline system facilities in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The contract between CPC and KTO was signed in May 2018 for a five-year period from 2018 to 2023.
