CPC Management Inspect Western Region Pump Stations

20220717.jpgOn 17 July 2022, CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban and operation specialists visited the Western Region pump stations – Kropotkinskaya PS, PS-7 and PS-8. Unscheduled emergency response checks for operation personnel and contractors were carried out at the PS and pipeline facilities.

At KP1237 of the oil pipeline, the drill participants implemented the scenario of “onshore oil spill”. The Kropotkinsky ERS staff proceeded promptly to the site. 23 specialists and 12 vehicles completed all emergency response scope within the prescribed time. The STARSTROI LLC contractor personnel demonstrated all capabilities of the available equipment.

At PS-7, fire response drill was conducted at a site near the mainline pump house. After deployment, the employees performed successfully a foam attack on the fire source.

Within the framework of an unscheduled inspection of manpower and resources, the PS-8 operation personnel and contractors extinguished a conventional fire at the mud strainer site.

At all pump stations, the executives checked operation of the equipment at the industrial sites, examined the administrative premises, workshops, fire stations and warehouses. By the results of the CPC WR visit, it was noted that the territory of the facilities and all equipment were in good order, the CPC employees and contractors showed job commitment and high professional level.

The CPC Pipeline System is one of CIS largest energy investment projects that involves foreign capital. The length of the Tengiz – Novorossiysk pipeline is 1,511 km. This route moves over two thirds of all Kazakhstan export oil along with crude from Russian fields including those in the Caspian region. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM), allowing tankers to be loaded safely at significant distance offshore, including in poor weather conditions
